Hip hip hooray: celebrating 10 years of Yellow Diva's bestselling WB Series

A decade ago distributor Zenith Interiors approached us to design a new bar stool to complement their growing collection of loose furniture. David rummaged through his design notebook and produced a pencil sketch entitled "Woodblock". The illustration showed a concept for a simple but refined stool inspired by a traditional butcher's block.

The seamless pairing of solid timber and steel looked very fresh and proved a timeless marriage of artisanal and industrial aesthetics.

The new stools were an instant hit with architects and interior designers - in fact we landed our first order even before the official product launch at Zenith Sydney for Saturday in Design 2009.

Since then the WB Series has expanded beyond just bar stools to include a variety of café and dining tables, high benches plus a full outdoor range. With their trademark finger groove and carefully considered detailing, though much imitated the original designs have stood the test of time. Fully customisable in terms of colour, the high quality of manufacture and low maintenance requirements, along with their suitability for a wide range of applications and environments - workplace, hospitality, retail, cultural institutions, educational facilities and residential - has ensured the ongoing popularity of the WB range.

Many thousands of WB stools have been specified through the years for prestigious projects across Australia, including a current roll out of 180 WBS2 bar stools to National Australia Bank in Melbourne. Here a just a few of our favourites..
